English Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2.25 tsps Instant Yeast
  • 1 cup Lukewarm Water
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 3.66 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.66 cup Plain Yogurt

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt, stirring to combine. Add the yogurt, instant yeast, water, and sugar to the bowl.
  2. Mix together until the mixture forms a soft shaggy dough. Knead for 10 minutes. Dough will be sticky so sprinkle flour on your hands as needed.
  3. After kneading, let dough rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Roll dough out to about 0.5 inch thick. Cut out circles with a 3 inch round cutter. Roll any excess and flatten again to cut out more muffins. Place completed muffins on a baking sheet with parchment.
  5. Cover with damp towel and let rise in warm place for about an hour. Should double in size roughly.
  6. Heat a pan over low-medium heat. Once hot add muffins in and cook for about 6 minutes on each side. Turn only once.
